Looking ahead to a Brandon Allen start against Green Bay
Happy Saturday, Niner Gang! Another eventful (and frustrating) week out of Santa Clara as injuries continue to pile up. Usually teams get healthier coming out of bye weeks…instead the 49ers have continued to get more banged up by the day. At the end of the day though, this roster still has more than enough talent to not just win at Lambeau Field, but to make a strong push into the playoffs. While I try to stay optimistic, there’s no denying it’s now or never for the 49ers! Let’s go take a look at what’s been going on in Niner World:

Weekly Updates
Brock Purdy is OUT vs Green Bay with continued shoulder soreness. Based on the quotes from Shanahan and others, it sounded like the team expected throughout the week that Purdy would be able to play on Sunday, but his shoulder didn’t recover how they had hoped.
Joining Purdy on the sidelines in sweats will be Nick Bosa who’s hip/side issues will keep him OUT vs the Packers
Trent Williams (ankle) is a “true game-time decision” on Sunday
In one good piece of injury news, George Kittle is off the injury report and will play Sunday
Tidbits from the Week
Deebo Samuel and former 49er Terrell Owens got into a little tiff this week. Owens was quoted as saying: “Deebo is not really playing up to Deebo standards. Seems like he’s more focused on his pregame attire than he is actually the game”.
In response, Deebo responded: “T.O cut it fam!!!!”

Another good quote from this week came from the GOAT Jerry Rice: “We need everybody to man up. Our backs are against the wall. We can’t lose anymore ballgames. We gotta go!”

Game Recap & Preview
Man, that Seahawks game STUNK! Yet another division loss where we shot ourselves in the foot over and over again, and couldn’t close it out in the 4th quarter. That’s probably the most frustrating aspect of this entire season: we are beating ourselves. Not to take away from the other teams, but time and time again the 49ers’ losses are coming as a result of penalties, self-inflicted miscues, and making mistakes that we aren’t accustomed to seeing consistently out of 49ers teams (aside from poor special teams play, of course).
Looking ahead to Sunday against the Packers, the margin for error will be even slimmer without Purdy, Bosa, Ward, and others. To come out of Lambeau with a win, the 49ers are going to have to play clean football, which they still have not been able to do for a full game this season.
In a game like this where we are going in outmanned, some sloppy weather would actually be a welcome sign to muck up the game a bit. As luck would have it, rain/snow is NOT on the radar for Sunday, and it looks like the weather in Green Bay will be nicer than the weather in the Bay Area this weekend. GO FIGURE!
Regardless of the elements and injury report, the 49ers need to find a way to come out of this game with a win. The remaining games are quickly dwindling, and with the 49ers on the outside looking in on the playoff picture, this team can ill-afford to drop many more games.
With that being said, a win at Lambeau behind Brandon Allen, when no one is giving us a chance….that could just be the spark this team needs this season 👀

FOUR-ty Niners Facts
1) In 14 NFL seasons, Ronnie Lott earned 10 pro-bowl invitations at THREE different positions: Free Safety, Cornerback, Strong Safety
2) The 49ers offense is on pace for 39 TDs this season. Last season, the 49ers led the NFL with 60 TDs.
3) If the 49ers WIN at GB, they will have a 50% chance of making the playoffs. With a loss, they have a 15% chance of making the playoffs.
4) Even though they aren’t scoring TDs, the 49ers offense is 2nd in the entire NFL in team yards per game at 398.9 / game. The only team ahead of the 49ers is the Ravens.
Highlight of the Week
This week’s highlight has to be one of my favorite moments ever in 49ers-Packers history. All of 49ers nation was screaming at Dre Greenlaw to just go down after he intercepted this! But Dre had other plans and ran around the field for what felt like an hour. Regardless, a very fun and special moment in the history of the 49ers-Packers.
DRE GREENLAW. THE NINERS WIN THE GAME! 🧀 ⛏️

Time to lick our wounds and get back on the horse for another game of 49ers football! There’s no doubt they have been so frustrating to watch this season, but there’s a reason our fan base is called the “faithful”. We will show up on Sunday and root our team on until we are blue in the face.
Bang Bang Niner Gang!
